Social Activities

 Social Events for 2018 

We host several engaging and fun social events each year. The first two events are now open for registration (see registration process below)

The first events are the members’ breakfast, and opera on the harbour. The opera, in particular, was hugely popular last year and early registration is recommended to avoid disappointment.

More 2018 activities will soon be advertised.

The registration process – (applies to all events)

  1. Contact event organiser (to be advised for each event), to check availability and register for the event
  2. Make payment by the due date. Do this by either payment at any branch of the Newcastle Permanent Building Society, or by internet transfer to:
    • Eastlakes U3A
    • BSB: 650 000
    • Account: 964918406
    • Include your NAME and the activity code (eg; SMITH bfast) in the payment description box.  This last part is most important so that we can identify who has booked and paid.

Opera on the harbour – La Boheme

Date/time: Thursday 5 April – leaving Belmont 3pm
Venue: Mrs Macquarie’s Point, The Domain Sydney

Important information!

Coach transport:

  • Pick up 3pm Belmont with optional pick-up Swansea – arrival 5.30-6pm
  • Opera commences 7.30pm and concludes approximately 10pm
  • Coach departure around 10.30pm with arrival Swansea/Belmont approximately 1am

Dinner:

Arrival time will only allow sufficient time for a BYO picnic or meal at one of the on-site eateries (Circular Quay too far away)

More information:

  • Bring poncho or other suitable cover in case of rain
  • No refund – unless your ticket can be on-sold prior to the event. If promoter cancels performance, they will apply their reissue/refund policy
  • We have C-reserve seating in groups of four, eight or ten, in various parts of the arena. Tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Groups of two or more will be seated together if at all possible

Indemnity:

As Eastlakes U3A is providing transport, participants  will need to sign an indemnity form on boarding the coach, on the day of the event.
